There’s no doubt that the men’s runways in London and Pitti Uomo have offered bold trends that we’ll be embracing come fall 2013, but the “realness” remains on the street. One of our favorite sources for street style is YOU JUST GOT SPOTTED by photographer Michelle Jun. We caught up with Michelle in fashion’s hottest cities and she shared with us her inspiring images of the best fashion peacocks and what’s in their wardrobes right now.
What makes a Great Street Style Photo?
In my opinion, someone with great style in the right moment makes a great street style photograph. In addition, good lighting and editing help to generate great photographs.
How did you get involved shooting street style?
I regularly visited, and still continue to visit, street style blogs for inspirations to incorporate into my everyday attire. When I became more curious about the scene, I grabbed my camera and went to the streets of Toronto. Then I travelled to New York, London, Florence, Milan and Paris.
What are you seeing a lot of on the streets?
Since I am in Europe for men’s fashion week, I see many men in their suits. They differentiate themselves from others with different accessories. I see a lot of chunky scarves, patterned knits, and colorful hats.
How do you dress to capture these images?
I dress casually to capture these images. It is quite cold in Milan at the moment. I often wear sweaters, scarves, blazers and coats. I wear sneakers because I cover a lot of distance during the day.
5 Things you are obsessed with right now?
Currently, I am obsessed with espresso cups, candles, camera lenses, Celine espadrilles and Engineered Garments clothing.
