A MOMENT WITH BOBBI BROWN

What was the inspiration for the pretty powerful campaign?
Pretty Powerful symbolizes my belief that all women are pretty without makeup – and with the right tools and knowledge can feel more confident and therefore be empowered to another level of pretty –Pretty Powerful. Makeup is a way to empower women with confidence. It’s important for women to find what products bring out their individual beauty and complements their personal style.

What are 5 beauty essentials every woman should have in her makeup bag?
Corrector/concealer
Gel liner
Blush
Mascara
Lip gloss

What do you love right now when it comes to books, movies, travel, music or anything else that inspires you?
I have always been a fan of biographies, and am currently reading Grace: A Memoir. I also recently returned from a trip to China and Hong Kong, so I am reinspired by Asian culture and Asian women in general, so I’m working with my product development team on products incorporating influences from the Far East. I am inspired by travel, art, fashion…but mostly, it is the women I meet daily who make the biggest impact.

What do you wish for this holiday season?
I wish for donations to be made to Dress for Success or Broome Street Academy (a charter high school in Soho, NY). The women at DFS are always in need of suits, dresses, shoes, accessories and handbags, and the students at Broome Street Academy are in need of school supplies, iPads, and books. I believe the more you give in life, the more you get back.

What is your favorite makeup trend when it comes to the holidays?
I love sparkle shadows for holiday or a classic smoky eye.
